Elder Law for Couples, March 2019The first of Arthur Bergeron’s spring seminars at the Saltmarsh, on elder law for couples, worked through the example of his fictional couple Frank and Mary and their children. Arthur Bergeron Elder Law for Couples in Early RetirementThe first of two autumn seminars that follow Frank and Mary through the stages of later life. This one takes the couple at early retirement, and the question of how two people who want to stay in their own home to the end can plan for it. Arthur Bergeron Elder Law for the Final Years of LifeThe second of the two autumn seminars, picking Frank and Mary up in their eighties and then after Frank’s death, and what Mary faces for the rest of her life. Arthur Bergeron Lecture: Elder Law for SinglesIf you’re single and want to make things simple for those you love after you die, this seminar is for you. Elder law attorney Arthur Bergeron discusses steps you can take now to avoid probate, estate taxes and delays, and to minimize arguments, so that the people and organizations you love receive the gifts you intend with little to no obstacles. Arthur Bergeron Lecture: Elder Law for CouplesWhile you are both alive, you as a couple have unique opportunities to plan so that when one of you dies the other can qualify for MassHealth, and when you both die your family can avoid estate taxes. Elder law attorney Arthur Bergeron explains why this planning needs to be done before one of you dies. Arthur Bergeron Lecture: Elder Law for SinglesAre you single? If you are incapacitated, who will manage things for you? What if you need to qualify for MassHealth? When you die, is it clear who will take care of what? Elder law attorney Arthur Bergeron addresses these and other issues that may affect you and your loved ones. Arthur Bergeron Lecture: Elder Law 101Does your estate plan still work? Your health or financial situation may have changed, so this seminar is a prompt to review the plan you have. Arthur Bergeron runs through the key considerations. Arthur Bergeron Lecture: Elder Law 101, Taking Care of the Kids (and Grandkids) After you DieYou love your children and grandchildren and would like to do all you can for them, even after you die, and there are estate planning strategies to help. One is to distribute things while you are still alive, though it is important to understand the pros and cons of doing so. Arthur Bergeron focuses on the kids as an estate planning matter. | ||||
